Davao's Christmas Pet Con to Uphold Animal Welfare Laws14 December 2019
The Davao's Christmas Pet Con, an advocacy project of Davao City Councilor Mary Joselle D. Villafuerte, intended to support the government's ongoing campaign in the prevention of rabies, advocate responsible pet ownership, promote pet adoption and uphold Animal Welfare laws. This activity was co-organized by STOP Rabies program in partnership with Davao City Veterinarian's Office, Davao City Health Office, The PAWSitivity Project Philippines, Ark Veterinary Clinic, and UP Veterinary Medical Student's Society.
This event aimed to engage the growing number of pet owners to help eradicate rabies in Davao City by increasing their awareness on rabies control, prevention, management, and responsible pet ownership. The pet owners were given free access to services like vaccination, microchipping, neutering, castration, antibody titer testing, and pet consultation. |
Davao City Celebrates Pet Friendship Day28 September 2019
The Davao Pet Friendship Day, in observance of World Rabies Day and World Rabies Day, is a pet advocacy community event organized by The PAWSitivity Project Philippines in partnership with the City Government of Davao-Office of the City Veterinarian, STOP Rabies, The Ark Veterinary Clinic, and UP Veterinary Medical Student's Society.

STOP Rabies, Other Agencies Conduct Rabies Vaccination and Information Drive25 March 2019
The STOP Rabies program conducted a free rabies vaccination and castration for dogs and cats, and free consultation on March 25, 2019 at Kalimudan Covered Court, UP Mindanao, Davao City. This event is conducted in celebration of Rabies Awareness Month.

Rabies Modeling Work Immersion Program for SHS Students20 February 2019
The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, UP Mindanao partnered with Davao Christian High School in hosting Senior High School (SHS) students for a work immersion program. The SHS students are doing research work on rabies epidemic modeling and presented their research proposal to their supervisors, Prof. Pedro Alviola, IV, Prof. May Anne Mata, Mr. Eliezar Diamante, and Mr. Zython Paul Lachica on February 20, 2019 at UP Mindanao, Davao City.

STOP Rabies Conducts Basic Statistical Analysis Training31 October 2018
The Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc. (DMSF) research faculty, staff, and students underwent a training on Basic Statistical Analysis on October 31, 2018 at DMSFI, Davao City. Prof. Pedro Alviola, IV and Prof. May Anne Mata, Project Leaders of STOP Rabies program, talked about basic interpretation of descriptive statistics, building basic regression models, as well as the fundamental concepts regarding probit and logit regressions.

Davao City Veterinarian's Office Undergoes Database Management Training15 October 2018
Pedro Alviola, IV, Associate Professor at UP Mindanao, and Zython Paul Lachica, STOP Rabies Technical Staff, conducted a Database Management Training for the Davao City Veterinary Office (CVO) research staff on October 15, 2018 at CVO, Davao City. The training was set to help CVO in organizing their collected data, efficient storage, which in turn, can be accessed electronically.
